Pisces – The Power Of Water
March 27th, 2006My family and I spent the past 4 days at Niagara Falls. It has now become one of my favorite places in the world. I cannot explain my love of water or the overwhelming emotion I feel as I listen to the roaring sound of the falls, or marvel at the power of the rushing water over the edge as it crashes to the earth below. It is not just the waterfalls that cause such deep emotion for me though. I choke up with emotion when I look at crashing waves at the ocean, while listening to the laughs of children, and I cry when standing by a quietly, trickling stream. I find pure joy in the ducks that I feed at an unnoticed pond behind a local restaurant. All of the delightful and moving feelings that I have attached to water got me wondering what the symbolic meaning of water is.
This is one passage I found: The Powerful Symbol of Water. . . It expresses its power in the form of hurricanes and flash floods. It displays its gentleness, washing dirt off a child’s scabbed knee. Water has been used to quench the thirst of many longing throats; and it has been the cause of death to those who unfavorably crossed its path. It possesses the power of total destruction, yet it holds the bases of all life. Generally, water has symbolized cleanliness and renewal. In the Bible, water was used in Baptism, cleansing the soul of original sin and offering a new life in the light of God. Water in itself is a natural purifier, washing the dirt from our bodies. Water is a symbol of transition-from dirty to clean.
As I have given more thought to water, I also wondered how, if in any way, my being a pisces had anything to do with the impact that water itself has on me. This is what I found the meaning of my zodiac sign to be . . .

Warning for Pisces

Pisces often develop a variety of vice habits including excessive gambling, compulsive shopping, and overspending.
